Pastor Mike Reece has been the Calvary Baptist Academy Administrator since 1978. Pastor Reece holds a Bible degree from the Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music, a B.S. degree in education from Central Michigan University and a M.A. in Educational Administration from Pensacola Christian College. He is a current doctoral candidate at Bob Jones University.
He and his wife Jeanie have four children. Concerning his family and CBC, Pastor Reece says, “Calvary is a great place to raise a family. There is a ministry here for every member of a family. From newborns to senior citizens, Calvary ministers to all.”
Pastor Reece enjoys hunting, fishing, camping and nearly all sports. His favorite Bible verse is Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Jean Reece joined Calvary’s faculty in 1991. Jean earned a B.S. in elementary education from Bob Jones University. She is the elementary principal of Calvary Baptist Academy and one of the assistant directors of Hidden Treasure’s Preschool.
Her interests include reading, sports, camping with her family, and spending time with her grandchildren. She and her husband, Michael, have four children: Michelle (Nathan) Bright, Michael (Sarah) Reece, Kari (Nathan) McDowell , and Paul (Nikole) Reece. Jean accepted the Lord Jesus as her personal Saviour as a young girl and desires to serve Him with her life.
Mrs. Abbey Tomko joined the Hidden Treasures teaching faculty in 2000 after receiving her B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from Bob Jones University. She has taught in both K-4 and Kindergarten for a total of 14 years of teaching experience. She became the director of Hidden Treasures in 2015. She enjoys serving children and families at Calvary Baptist Church in a variety of ministries. She teaches in the Primary School Department, and she is the Director of the girls Truth and Training club on Wednesday nights. She helps with Upward Basketball, Vacation Bible School, and organizes the church carnival. If there are kids around, Abbey will want to be there! She feels blessed to be involved in a ministry that impacted her own life so much when she was a young preschooler herself.
Abbey and her husband Dennis have two children, Charley and Ila, who keep them busy! Their family enjoys sports, camping, and playing games together.
Judy Romig has been involved in education since 1973 and has taught in the Freeland and Meridian schools, as well as teaching at CBA. Judy has a B.A. in Elementary Education from CMU, and is currently using her training to teach in the K-4 class. Judy is one of the assistant directors of Hidden Treasures Preschool. On her free time, she enjoys family time and playing with kids. At Calvary Baptist Church, she is the primary Sunday School teacher and an AWANA leader. She has 3 children: Abbey (Dennis) Tomko, Gretchen (Ian) Pruden, and Michael (Candace) Romig.
